TESTIMONIALS

The personal testimony of those who have experienced the services of Concord Professional Development is a great way to get to know the company and what it has to offer.  The following individuals are a few of those who have generously agreed to share their thoughts about Gary’s work and Concord Professional Development.

“Dr. Gary Lepine was invited to hold team building sessions with the Mineral Land Asset Management group at Cenovus Energy Inc. His articulation of the elements of a functional team fit very well with the Company’s core values, in particular, trust and respect for each other.

Personally, I was energized and motivated by the interactive workshop and that led to leveraging off his session and planning follow up sessions. This helped to further develop and sustain the ideas that Dr. Lepine had presented on achieving team success. We have had success with the follow up sessions – kudos to Dr. Lepine.  Sustainability is important as team dynamics change.

His workshop based on the concept that conflict is simply a difference in opinion, can be the start to moving any team from ‘good’ to ‘totally synchronized’. His was definitely one of the better workshops that I have attended.”

“Gary’s “Finishing Well” session was extremely successful at our organization recently. Conversations on the topic of dying are difficult but critical. Gary uses his humor and personal stories to makes attendees feel comfortable and relatable. He shares the importance of having conversations regarding the 3 most important documents each of us should have and discuss with our loved ones when we are  well and not under stress. Gary delivers this information in such a way that people share their own experiences and are moved to take action.

Having lost my Mom and a close uncle to COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and cancer less than two years ago, I appreciate the importance of the information Gary shares during this session. By having these documents in place prior to the onset of illness, it provides peace and comfort that your loved ones’ wishes are being fulfilled and that you can focus on your loved one and on being with them.

This session reinforced the importance of not only ensuring that you have these invaluable conversations with your loved ones but that you, yourself, also prepare for your own “finishing well”.”

“I recently had the opportunity to have Dr. Gary Lepine work with my Surface Land Team at Encana Corporation.  I am fortunate to lead a team of 60 professionals who have without a doubt delivered on the targets and team goals. That said; I wanted to assist the team from being a good team to a great team. Dr Lepine was able to walk us through the valuable steps of what we can do to get there. I can tell you, we are still growing and have put to use Gary’s teachings that will assist us in being a great industry leader and team.”

“Following the merger of Suncor Energy Inc. and Petro-Canada, we arranged to have Dr. Lepine conduct a half day course at our office entitled “The Cost of Bad Behaviour”.  As a result of Dr. Lepine’s recommendations, Suncor’s Vision & Value Statement, Harassment Policy and Employee Capability Model were all effectively incorporated into the course materials.  The course was very thought provoking, and extremely relevant to our team.   Dr. Lepine’s interactive style and use of group work allowed the team to explore the material in a meaningful way.  I would definitely recommend Dr. Lepine’s courses.”

“Gary’s presentation on ethics for the Petroleum Joint Venture Association was insightful.  He really nailed it on the head when he compared our everyday behaviour to the lessons we all learned in the sandbox as children. How simple and how appropriate his talk was to our organization whose members often enter conflict and the need for resolution amongst corporate cultures and personal behaviours. And his humour kept everyone engaged. I look forward to crossing paths with him again.”

“The Canadian Association of Petroleum Land Administration (CAPLA) supports more than 2500 members by providing educational courses, professional development, networking events, a certification program, and volunteer opportunities.

CAPLA has a varied and diverse history with Gary Lepine as an educational instructor and a keynote speaker at the 2010 CAPLA Conference and Leadership Lunch ‘n Learn. Gary has a great presentation style – easy to listen to; entertaining; while he delivers strong educational messages. He connects with his audience and has them engaged from start to finish. We feel confident in recommending Gary as an excellent presenter on his diverse range of topics.”

“One of the best seminars I have attended this year.  Gary’s facilitation skills allowed me to step back from the day to day and to think in a bigger picture.  I will be thinking about his approach and applying it for a long time to come”.

“The Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen’s (CAPL) continuing education group provides over 50 seminars a year for our 1500 members and other industry professionals. Dr. Gary Lepine, has been providing instruction for our organization as often as 5 times a year for 6 years. The course material included at Gary’s seminars is a prerequisite to membership and a requirement for professional certification within our Association.

Registrant feedback continually confirms that Gary is also one of our most enjoyable presenters. From a planning and development perspective, Gary is one of our most accessible instructors. Gary’s course materials are essential, relative and interesting.

On a personal note, having attended seminars presented by Gary, it is obvious that he puts a lot of thought into connecting with his participants. It is very apparent that Gary really enjoys his work. I would highly recommend Gary to seminar planners and attendees alike.”

“Gary recently spoke at two ethics workshops for intensive care nurses.  Though not in the medical profession himself, his talk on the ‘Four Layers of Moral Discourse’ was easily applicable to ethical issues in the ICU.  He was an engaging speaker and brought some potentially lofty philosophical concepts down to the grass roots level.  The nurses evaluations of Gary’s talk were all positive with some wishing that he had more time to talk and others recommending that he come to the ICU’s fall update.  I highly recommend him for any ethics based workshop and any audience.”

“In October 2008 and February 2009, our association was very pleased to have Dr. Gary Lepine present a half day seminar entitled ‘Introduction to Professional Ethics’. The presentation was informative, educational, interesting and valuable for both our professional and personal lives. There were discussions surrounding the Land Agents Standard of Conduct and case studies from the land profession. Overall, Gary helped each and every attendee acknowledge ethical decision making in our everyday lives. I would recommend this seminar to everyone.”

“As someone who has studied ethics in university and now works in the field of Ethics and Compliance, I really appreciate the way Gary describes theory in a way that everyone can understand, and links it to practical situations in the real world.”
